i have a old set of antlers, they are yellowish brown,i tried to use lacure thinner and had no luck. any suggestions

Fred are they smoke stained or is there something put on the antlers ?? I need to know to give you a better answer to your problem.

this is the rack they,were mounted about 10 years ago,i think they got smoke or oiled because the mount was dry preserved..
i try windex,actone,lacure thinner. nothing will work.

O.K. Fred, this is what I use. You can get this at your local Wal-Mart in the isle that they sell thinner & paint. It is called Citristrip & as you can see it is orange colored. But this stuff works great. I use it to remove varnish & other stuff. The trick is to NOT to try and do the whole antler at one time. Just put some on like 2 or 3 tines & let soak, read the directions on the bottle & let it soak a little longer. This should take it off for you. Heath Attachments:
